ECCS at a Glance

ECCS is a ministry of Evangel Church, PCA. Evangel Church is also the parent ministry of the Evangel Mother's Day Out & PreSchool and the Evangel Christian Homeschool.

Organizational Structure: ECCS is a ministry of Evangel Church P.C.A. (EPC) and is governed by a School Board, which is  under the authority of the Evangel Church Session.  The School Board is comprised of nine individuals, both EPC members and non-EPC members, who are all approved by the Evangel Church Session. The Evangel Mothers' Day Out & Preschool also falls under the authority of the ECCS School Board.

History: ECCS was founded in 2000 with 53 students in kindergarten through 5th grade.  In 2005, ECCS began adding one grade per year, becoming a full K-12 school in 2010. 

Accreditation:  ECCS is accredited by the Association of Classical and Christian Schools, which is the premier accrediting organization for classical schools in the nation. We received our initial accreditation in 2010.

School and Class Size:  ECCS offers grades K-5 through 12th grade, and we currently have 360 students enrolled.  We desire to maintain kindergarten classes of 16 students or less, with all other grades 18 students or less per class.  

School Day: Before Hours Care is offered from 7:00-7:40 a.m.The school day begins at 7:40 a.m. and classes begin at 8:00 a.m. The Grammar School (Kindergarten – 5th Grade) day ends at 1:00 p.m. Beginning in the 2016-2017 school year, the Logic and Rhetoric School (6th – 12 Grade) day ends at 3:10 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and at 2:25 on Wednesdays.  After Hours Care is offered for both Grammar and Logic & Rhetoric students until 6:00 p.m.

Administration: ECCS Administration consists of the Grammar Principal and the Logic and Rhetoric School Principal, who administer and manage the day to day operations of their respective schools, and who work collaboratively with the rest of the Administrative Staff on whole school management.  The  Dean of Classics serves to further and to protect the classical Christian mission of the school, particularly in the areas of curriculum development, faculty training, and community education.

Curriculum:  The curriculum has been established by the Board, drawing from previously established classical school curricula, including, but not limited to Logos Classical School and Hillsdale Academy. To learn more about our curriculum, click here.

Finances:  ECCS is financially self-supporting.  Tuition, fundraising, and donations from those favoring classical and Christian education are the primary sources of income.
