2008 Golf Tournament
This year's Golf Tournament was held at Timberline Golf Club in Calera. Bobby Humphreys, formerly with the University of Alabama and the Birmingham Steeldogs, was the guest speaker. Thanks to all who supported ECCS by sponsoring a golf cart, hole, or by playing in the tournament.
1st Annual Walk-A-Thon
In conjunction with the Golf Tournament, the students at ECCS participated in a Walk-A-Thon. Students handed out brochures detailing their mission for raising money. Sponsors donated money for the students who participated in the Walk-A-Thon. All of the ECCS students attended the Golf Tournament, and walked part of the Timberline Golf Course. The students who raised the most money recieved prizes such as a Nintendo DS, an iPod Shuffle, and even an XBOX 360.
And The Winners Are...
Stephi Volgas, of Ms. Holcombe's class, won Third Place by raising over $700.
Daniel Williams, in Mrs. Morgan's Fourth Grade class, took Second Place by raising over $1200.
And finally, Amanda Holloway, 10th Grade, won First Place by raising over $1600.
Mrs. Morgan's class won the class party for the largest amount of money raised by a single class.
And The Total Is...
The Golf Tournament and Walk-A-Thon combined raised over $61,000. The Walk-A-Thon alone raised over $42,000. Thanks to all who supported ECCS by contributing to either the Walk-A-Thon or by participating in the Golf Tournament. Thanks to your support, ECCS has been able to raise nearly half of the total loan amount for the new building addition.
